In addition to the impressive capabilities of HydroLock, HCT has adapted its patented Encapsulator Technology for applications in tank degassing and spill clean-up. HydroLock can be used to render flammable hydrocarbons nonflammable without the formation of a fragile foam blanket. It can be used to clean oil well production tanks, pipelines, petroleum storage tanks, and sludge. The US EPA has listed F-500 on the NCP product schedule as a surface washing agent for use on oil spills. When used as a Vapor Mitigation Agent, it rapidly lowers flammable and noxious vapors to below the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL).
