On-site Training Courses
Coal Bulk Storage Fire Response
Overview
This course trains plant personnel and first responders in safe, effective methods for mitigating conveyor, silo, bunker, and dust collector hazards with an emphasis on Powder River Basin (PRB) coal. Topics include fire and explosion detection, prevention, control, and extinguishment using our robust line of F-500 EA®-powered fire equipment.
Objectives
Indentify
Identify conveyor, silo, bunker, and dust collector hazards to establish best operating practices for fire prevention, control, and extinguishment.
Explain
Explain spontaneous combustion hazards in bulk stored PRB coal to prioritize personnel safety and minimize fire impact on plant assets.
Prepare
Prepare plant personnel and local fire departments for emergency response efforts on combustible dust and bulk solid fires with F-500 EA®.
Demonstrate
Demonstrate assembly and use of our line of F-500 EA®-powered fire equipment to develop incident communication plans for deployment.
Coal Handling Hazards Awareness
Overview
This course trains plant personnel to identify combustible dust hazards in coal handling systems and develop effective emergency response using F-500 EA®. It addresses fire and explosion risks associated with Powder River Basin (PRB) coal, providing proven strategies for managing silo and bunker incidents with greater awareness, control, and safety.
Objectives
Indentify
Identify hazards of PRB coal and coal dust with an emphasis on recognizing and mitigating fugitive, float, and forgotten coal dust hazards.
Explain
Explain spontaneous combustion and dust explosion characteristics to develop safer techniques for extinguishing bin, silo, and bunker fires.
Prepare
Prepare combustible dust reduction and housekeeping protocols while reviewing systematic hazard elimination processes with F-500 EA®.
Demonstrate
Demonstrate assembly and use of our line of F-500 EA®-powered fire equipment to develop incident communication plans for deployment.
Power Plant Hazards Awareness
Overview
This course builds awareness of fire and explosion hazards across power plants, including fuel, transformers, turbines, boilers, and coal handling systems. Using real case studies, it prepares vendors, contractors, and non-operations staff on-site to recognize risks and develop effective emergency protocols with F-500 EA®.
Objectives
Indentify
Identify detection systems and their purpose within the power plant to appropriately respond to stationary vs. progressive fire hazards.
Explain
Explain power plant hazards and develop in-depth awareness of risks presented by fuel, transformers, turbines, boilers, and coal handling.
Prepare
Prepare for three-dimensional flammable fuel, transformer, under-turbine lube oil, and above ground storage tank fires to prevent injuries and loss.
Demonstrate
Demonstrate assembly and use of our line of F-500 EA®-powered fire equipment to develop incident communication plans for deployment.
